Inside Our Proven Process: From Design to Delivery

We left off last month’s blog at the first step of our Proven Process, the in-home consultation. This month, we’re going to talk about the remaining steps of our process. As a reminder, we start with a complimentary consultation in our showroom where you pick out the samples that speak to you and we create the rough plan for your project. From there, we visit your home to get a sense of your aesthetic and check out things like natural light and flooring. We also confirm our measurements in this visit so that we can move on to the next step—design!

Drawings First

After visiting your home, we’ll create a 3-D drawing of the design and a detailed list of all the different pieces and parts. We love using 3-D software because it really gives clients a feel for the design and helps them to visualize what the space will actually look like in the end. After the big reveal, we’ll give you some time to sit with the design, and then we’ll start the back-and-forth process of adjusting the details. We want to be sure you are 100% thrilled with your new space, and we will work with you to redraw and reconfigure the plan until you’re there.

This can sometimes be a slow, circular process, and we are good with that! We honestly love the opportunity to try on new configurations and combinations until we find one that’s just right for you. Sometimes, in the midst of the drawings and changes, clients feel like they need to make another trip to the showroom to take a second look at finishes and colors, and that’s totally fine. We will work with you until everything is perfect and you are ready to order your cabinets.

Once we’re all on the same page design-wise, we’ll put together a detailed bid for your  project. We’ll also send updated drawings and an updated cabinet estimate. If you’re also getting your countertops and hardware through us, we’ll send that info along with the estimate at this stage. You will have another chance to look closely at the plans and request any changes or additions at this point. Once we get your okay on the bid and the final drawings, it’s on to the ordering!

Getting You Over the Finish Line

After we’ve finalized the design plans and choices like stain and hardware, our team will shift into assistant mode. We will walk you through placing your deposits and give you detailed dimensional drawings so you can coordinate installation with your contractor. We are also happy to speak directly with your contractor if they have any questions about installation or the products being used.

Once we’ve placed the orders, then the hard part comes: we wait. Several of our cabinet manufacturers have amazingly quick turnaround times—some as quick as 5 or 6 weeks after you order. We’ll keep tabs on the orders and let you know when things are finished. Once your pieces have arrived, we will schedule delivery from our warehouse directly to your home. From there, you work with your contractor to get everything installed and finished. We are still available for any questions or concerns that come up, and will work with you to make sure things are exactly as you want them to be.

And that’s pretty much it! We know that designing (or redesigning) a kitchen or a bathroom can feel like a big task, but we are here to answer questions and guide you through the process. We’ll be right there with you from the day you walk into our showroom to the day you cook your first meal in your brand new kitchen—and for all of the laughter, drawings, swatches, and decisions in between. We’d love to help you make your dream kitchen or bath a reality. Contact us today to set up a time to visit the showroom so we can talk about how to make that dream come true!
